Guidelines for Reviewers

1. Role of Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the International Journal of Business & Innovation (IJBI). Reviewers are responsible for providing constructive, timely, and impartial evaluations of manuscripts to support the editorial decision-making process.

2. Review Process Overview
• All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review (both authors and reviewers remain anonymous).
• Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant field.
• Reviewers are invited based on their scholarly expertise and publication record.
• The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors make the final decision based on reviewers’ reports.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
I) Assess the quality and originality of the manuscript, including theoretical contribution, methodology, and clarity.
II) Provide detailed, constructive, and unbiased comments that help authors improve their work.
III) Evaluate ethical standards, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research practices.
IV) Respect confidentiality—manuscripts must not be shared, discussed, or used for personal advantage.
V) Declare any conflict of interest (financial, institutional, or personal) and decline the review if such conflicts exist.
VII) Submit reviews within the agreed deadline (typically 2–3 weeks).

4. Review Criteria
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
• Relevance to the journal’s scope and objectives
• Originality and contribution to theory or practice
• Soundness of methodology and analysis
• Clarity, organization, and coherence of argument
• Adequacy of references and literature review
• Practical or policy implications (where applicable)
• Overall quality and potential impact of the paper

5. Structure of the Review Report
A good review report typically includes:
• Summary: Brief overview of the manuscript’s purpose and contribution.
• Major Comments: Core issues such as research design, conceptual framework, analysis, or interpretation.
• Minor Comments: Language, formatting, references, or presentation issues.
• Recommendation: Choose one of the following:
o Accept as is
o Minor revision
o Major revision
o Reject

6. Ethical Considerations
IJBI adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Reviewers are expected to:
• Report any suspicion of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research.
• Avoid bias based on nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
• Treat all manuscripts with respect and professionalism.

7. Reviewer Recognition
IJBI acknowledges the invaluable contribution of its reviewers. Active reviewers may:
• Receive an official Certificate of Appreciation.
• Be listed on the annual Reviewer Acknowledgment Page (subject to consent).
• Be considered for appointment to the Editorial Board based on consistent performance.
