The Influence of Organizational Culture on Creativity and Innovation: A Review

Abstract In a modern society, creativity and innovation can lead to the success of organizations. Today, innovation is one of the main factors influencing business success in an extremely competitive and dynamic environment. Therefore, scholars and practitioners have attempted to contribute to improvements in knowledge of the effective management of innovation. To date, although the literature on innovation is growing rapidly, very little attention has been paid to the organizational and managerial issues pertaining to creativity. Previous studies have confirmed that creativity, innovation, discovery and inventions result in the success and existence of organizations. Thus, the main aim of this paper is to review the existing literature on the relationship of organizational culture with creativity and innovation. Furthermore, it has been proposed that creativity may improve the level of innovation implementation. This proposed framework is expected to further the deep insight into innovation management and scope out for empirical study in different settings.

Tapping into the Lucrative Halal Market: Malaysian SMEs Perspective

Abstract Halal is essential to the Muslims as it provides them sense of security through which whatever they use or consume is Syariah compliant. Throughout the years, interest in Halal products has increased tremendously among Muslim and even non-Muslims due to the growing awareness of Halal products are not exclusive to religion; and consumers around the world are increasingly demand for lawful or permissible, wholesomeness, high quality, safe and hygienic products. Hence, Halal concept and its qualities have gained global recognition and acceptance. Global Halal market is huge as it covers both Muslims and non-Muslims. Noticing this Halal market is a lucrative and potential opportunity for businesses to tap into, this paper provides an overview of Malaysia's effort towards International Halal Hub and its SMEs Halal export performance. Few questions have been raised from the descriptive analysis, which need to be investigated in future research.

Corporate Social Responsibility: Good for Business and Society

Abstract Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is no longer to assess only any business organization in context of contribution to the society. Perhaps, it has gained popularity among the corporations due to its prospects of yielding better business performance in the long range. The purpose of this paper is to sketch out an overview of CSR based on the acclamation and criticism from diverse perspective. Looking over through the extant literatures, this paper reviews the present status of CSR among the scholars, practitioners, development organizations, and governments. This paper reveals the supportive arguments for the notion that CSR is „giving back‟ to society by the business entities. In the business context, CSR found to be more effective and significant in the financial sector of a country. Considering the diminishing role of the state economic activity and limitation of generating public funds by the state, raise the dependency and expectation on the business sector, which would possibly eradicate the critical and severe issues of the society in developing countries. However, this paper opens up new thought towards CSR, which is more, an apt paradigm for returning back to the society.

A Glance on Service Innovation Scenario: Case of Leading Telecommunication Companies in Malaysia

Abstract: Malaysia has emerged as Asian dragon in context of overall economic development, where telecommunication sector is playing pivotal role. The main purpose of this paper is to review the state of innovation of the two top innovative telecommunication companies in Malaysia. With the attempt to explore and understand the innovation scenario of these two companies, the paper mainly sketches out the activities with regard to service offerings for the dynamic environment and customers. Thorough literature review has been conducted along with accruing information from the company‟s annual reports and website. The paper stands alone as comprehensive review of service innovation of the two most innovative companies. It is however, indeed for the companies to understand the diverse paths of service innovation, which may facilitate to attain competitive advantageous position.

Success Factors for Clean Development Mechanism Implementation in Malaysia

Abstract The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), established under the Kyoto Protocol, is one of the market-based mechanisms developed to assist industrialized countries mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, achieve emission reduction targets, and at the same time promote sustainable development in developing countries. The CDM, which provides flexibility and cost-effectiveness in meeting GHG emission reduction targets, has captured interest globally. CDM implementation is expected to generate benefits, give developing countries a sense of ownership, and share the global load in tackling global warming and climate change. However, CDM implementation faces several complications. The successful participation of developing countries in emission reduction projects presents ongoing challenges, which inhibit their drive towards sustainable development goals. Through a comprehensive review of the literature and theoretical analysis, several factors have been identified as significant to successful CDM implementation in Malaysia. These success factors, which include regulation and a legal framework, competitive advantage, green supply chain, ethical values, financial benefits, and technology transfer, are presented and the importance of each factor is discussed.

About Efficiency of Agribusiness Organizations

Abstract Unprecedented development in the theory of economic organizations in past decades has brought about to significant evolution in understanding of the essence and efficiency of agribusiness organizations. Nevertheless, the traditional approach for assessing efficiency of economic organization is (through “technical or financial efficiency” of production factors, “productivity of employed resources”) is widely used. Consequently, it cannot be explained: why there are so many organizations performing with great variation in efficiency for a long period of time. This paper incorporates achievements of interdisciplinary New Institutional Economics and suggests a framework for assessing the efficiency of organizations for agribusiness and innovation. According to this new approach we have to study firm and farm as a governing rather than as production structure; assess comparative efficiency of alternative market, contract, internal, and hybrid modes of governance; take into account transaction costs and institutional, behavioral, dimensional, technological and natural factors; enrich (reformulate) criteria of economic efficiency of business organization; and better determine effective horizontal and vertical boundaries of business organizations. Specificity in the area of agri-business research and innovations is also clarified. Effective boundaries of different governing modes are assessed, and needs and forms for public intervention in agrarian research and innovation are clarified.

A Need Based Approach for Technical Education in India

Abstract Technical education in the country has been tuned for a great amount of acceleration and is galloping towards a target in tune with the International level. On spring of such rapid progress, the concept of quality of education requires more attention. Corporatizations has emerged as a supplementary measure for complementing the governmental initiatives, this introduced a new arena of profit oriented education. This necessitated an imperative need for the evaluation of the situation and to assess the fact that whether the out turn from these educational institutions are absorbed by the economy for the effective utilization and/or for the research needs of the country. The results throw light to the reality of ever widening gap between the supply and the demand, polarizing phenomena of educated Professional unemployment. A probable solution for confronting this challenge is by fine tuning the professional education system to a result and research oriented one with active participation of different sectors of the economy.

Aggressive Behavior Among Adolescents in Arab Schools: A Review Paper

Abstract The purpose of this study is to contribute to the area of strategic management accounting (SMA), particularly Customer Accounting (CA) Information by explaining the firms' size effect on the extent of usage of CA information in Jordanian service companies. The population for this study was all services companies that listed in Amman stock Exchange in 2010. Using one-way ANOVA, the results of the study indicated that only the use of one CA information dimension (lifetime customer profitability analysis) showed significant differences across the firms' size. However, the extent of usage of the remaining CA information dimensions shows no significant differences across the firms' size.
